Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Song of the Summer (the “Site”), a website where users search for songs and vote for the one that defines Summer 2026. By using the Site, creating an account, or purchasing votes, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. What you're paying for

Voting is paid. Each vote costs $1.00 USD, and you may purchase up to 5 votes. When you buy votes, you are paying for the votes themselves, not for a chance to win anything. You may spend your votes on a single song or spread them across multiple nominees.

The winning song receives the title of “Song of the Summer” only. There is no cash prize, no giveaway, and no other reward of value. This is a paid poll, not a contest, sweepstakes, raffle, or game of chance.

2. Votes are non-refundable

All purchases are final and non-refundable. Votes have no cash value, cannot be transferred or redeemed for money, and are usable only for voting on this Site.

Votes are tied to the Summer 2026 event and expire when voting closes. Any votes you have purchased but not cast by the close of voting are forfeited. We are not obligated to refund unspent votes.

3. Voting period and results

Voting closes on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. After voting closes, no further votes may be purchased or cast, and results are revealed. The song with the most total votes is named Song of the Summer. We may adjust the close date for operational reasons and will make reasonable efforts to communicate any change.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to purchase votes. You are responsible for your account and for all activity under it. You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate anyone or create accounts to manipulate the outcome.

5. Fair use

You agree not to abuse, disrupt, or attempt to game the Site, including through fraud, automated voting, payment manipulation, or circumventing the per-user vote limit. We may suspend accounts, void votes, or refuse service for conduct we reasonably believe is abusive or fraudulent.

6. Payments and chargebacks

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. By purchasing, you authorize the charge to your payment method. Initiating a chargeback or dispute for a legitimate purchase may result in the associated votes being voided and your account suspended.

7. Music and third-party content

Song titles, artist names, and album artwork are provided by the Spotify Web API and remain the property of their respective owners. Song of the Summer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify or any artist or label. Votes are not tied to any Spotify content or account.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Site or your purchases is limited to the amount you paid us in the 90 days before the claim.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
